We produce clarinets with German system
and clarinets with Reform Böhm system,
which was invented over 80 years ago
by Herbert Wurlitzer’s father Fritz Wurlitzer.
We are the only company
to produce the entire clarinet family
You can only buy WURLITZER clarinets exclusively in our manufactory. As with a piece of art, it is important for us to know which hands the instrument comes in, and we would like to advise and assist each client individually.
In Japan and China, we have special representatives with whom we work together in a spirit of trust.
Our clarinets are made exclusively from carefully stored and selected according to strict criteria grenadilla wood. The mechanism is made of nickel silver and is extra heavily silver plated and highly polished. Clarinets come with one to two barrels (depending on model,) and one mouthpiece.
The Reform-Boehm Clarinet was invented more than 80 years ago by Fritz Wurlitzer – Herbert Wurlitzer’s father – an instrument with “French” fingering and the sound of a “German” clarinet.
This means that as a Boehm clarinetist you do not have to switch to the German system to achieve the typical German Wurlitzer sound.
The Wurlitzer Reform-Boehm clarinet is the ultimate combination of the beautiful, powerful sound of the German bore with the fast French fingering, which has been modernized with even more alternative grip / pitch options.
Our Clarinets are pitched to play from A-440 (long barrel) to A-442 (regular barrel) to A-444 (short barrel). There is no problem with pitch or projection when playing any Wurlitzer clarinet in America, Asia or Europe either as soloist, orchestra member or chamber musician.
