Philipp Alexander Frings

b. 2004, comes from a professional musician family. The first clarinet lessons he got with 4.5 years with his father. In 2014 she moved to the class of Ulrike Warnecke at the Bernd Alois Zimmermann Music School Erftstadt. Philipp is the gold medal winner of the 34e Concours Luxembourgeois pour Jeunes Solistes. In 2018 he won the national competition “Jugend musiziert” with the highest score and the special prize of the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben for outstanding achievements. First symphony orchestra experience gathered the young musician in the children’s orchestra NRW. Since 2018 he is a member of the State Youth Orchestra NRW. Important inspirations were made possible by classes with renowned artists and professors, including Prof. Johannes Gmeinder, Prof. Thorsten Johanns and Prof. Kerstin Grötsch, as well as solo performances with the Lower Rhine Symphony Orchestra. He studies at the Robert-Schumann-Hochschule Düsseldorf with Martin Bewersdorff (young student at the Institut Schumann Junior). In addition to clarinet Philipp plays the piano and is a successful and enthusiastic swimmer.
