Moritz Pettke

Moritz Pettke, born in 1996 in Erfurt, has been playing the clarinet since the age of six. Even in his youth, he was a prizewinner in various competitions. From 2011 to 2015, he attended the specialized music program at the Landesschule Pforta.

He studied under Harald Harrer at the Leopold Mozart Center of the University of Augsburg and at the Hochschule für Musik FRANZ LISZT Weimar in the class of Thorsten Johanns. In 2017, Moritz Pettke became an academician for bass clarinet/clarinet at the Theater Erfurt. During this time, his interest in the lower instruments of the clarinet family grew, and starting in October 2019, he was able to further specialize at the Giuseppe Sinopoli Academy of the Staatskapelle Dresden. Since August 2021, Moritz Pettke has been the solo bass clarinetist of the Saxon Staatskapelle Dresden.
