Franz-Josef Frings
was born in Aachen and received his first clarinet lessons at the age of eight. After studying with Charly Müller (clarinet) and Johannes Poth (piano, ear training and harmony), he moved to Prof. Hermut Gießer, under whose leadership he successfully completed his studies at the Robert Schumann University of Düsseldorf in 1995.
Intensive concert activities as a soloist and chamber musician led Franz-Josef Frings to many European countries, among others. to the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Spain, Russia and Switzerland. His diverse field of work also includes participation in numerous symphony orchestras, as well as CD productions and extensive lecturing.
