
Stefan Woudenberg
Stefan Woudenberg (The Hague, The Netherlands) is both a classical clarinetist and viola da gamba player. Coming from a family of professional musicians, he started playing clarinet and viola da gamba at a young age. He studied both instruments at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague where he graduated cum laude in both disciplines.
His versatility as a musician has afforded him the opportunity to perform in diverse settings globally, ranging from esteemed venues such as Het Concertgebouw in Amsterdam to the renowned Sydney Opera House in Australia. Stefan has worked previously in The Netherlands, across Europe, South Korea, Japan and Australia as both performer and teacher. Since 2024, Stefan has been teaching clarinet, viola da gamba and historical performance practice as visiting lecturer at the College of Music at Yonsei University (Seoul, South Korea)
As wind player, as well as a string player he occasionally takes part in chamber music ensembles. Several internationally known orchestras invite him regularly to take part in their productions as a soloist or orchestra member.
Stefan played previously with The Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest, Noord Nederlands Orkest, Residentie Orkest, National Opera & Ballet Amsterdam, The Greek National Opera & Ballet, Sydney Chamber Opera, ASKO|Schönberg Ensemble, Ensemble LUDWIG, Metropole Orchestra, Netherlands Bach Society, La Sfera Armoniosa, LYRATA among others.
Stefan plays on Herbert Wurlitzer Reform-Böhm clarinets. From E-flat to Bass.
